censorship and patriotism, together again!

I saw this interesting piece in the Progressive about an artist who has received death threats because of his 'treasonous' work showing a flag draped USA going down the toilet. Some good 'patriots' want his work removed because it is being shown in a public space, while others would like one of their goose-stepping followers to out and out kill him. Lovely. Is that what Jesus would do?

Dissent is one of the cornerstones of democracy, which is why hard core conservatives want to squash it. They do not want a democracy, they want a dictatorship of their chosen party. They want us all to have to adhere to their beliefs or be severely punished (I believe the word is Theocracy, actually). They constantly tell us that the men and women fighting over seas are fighting for our right to free speech, and then get offended if we exercise that right. Well, if you assholes ever get the country you want, you can put my back against the wall first because I won't live in it quietly...

Be afraid of the hyper-patriotic...their kind pave the way for fascism...

Find Your Happy Place

Playa del Carmen, Mex.

After you get all worked up thinking about terrorism/reactionary force, stare at this pic (click it for a bigger size) for a while and relax. We like to promote good mental health here, too.

Hey, this here blog thing works!

I like it, people have stumbled across us here in cyberspace and posted their thoughts, one of them even told me to go to hell (well, not in so many words)! Keep it up, I dig your feedback even when I disagree w/ you, thanks! In the spirit of peace I'll post a happy pic in a minute here...

OK, D., here's your cozy seating ; )
(c. AngryYoungArtist)

Right, there you are then...

See, the aforementioned person shot in the back several times by the London police was an innocent bystander! Oops! Instead of a bombing suspect, he just happened to be a random brown person (Brazilian in this case). He just happened to be running from police because he had an expired visa. Well, I guess they showed him! Remind me to make sure all of my papers are in order next time I head over there! You'll also be glad to know that police have said this will not change their new policy of 'shoot to kill.' I feel safer already...

PS - And to all the folks who justify the shooting with whatever b.s. excuse, you are wrong, you are the ones handing a victory to the terrorists. You are willing to allow innocent people to be killed to give yourself a false sense of security (this false sense of security can only be obtained by white Britons, though, as anyone with darker skin now has to worry about being shot 8 time in the back) and you are willing to take away certain freedoms/liberties/rights in the name of security. Sorry, that's how fascism starts. You make excuses when your not the one being shot, but next time it may be your turn.

Another pic...

I thought I'd post another pic so we don't get too bogged down in the real world...

London's Burning!

Jesus, watch your back if you're a shady brown person in London right now! I hate terrorists as much as the next person, and London is one of my favorite cities, but shoving someone to the floor and then shooting him 5 times in the back, yikes! We'll see how this pans out, but I certainly hope they can prove the man had a bomb on his person or something...also, now that the violence has been brought home, I hope this is the end of Tony Blair (I hate Tony Blair)...and, thank god for giving Londoners someone other than the Irish to hate (not to make light of all this)...

Why am I angry today?

Because I got gmail, which rules, but angryyoungman and whysoangry were already taken! Someone out there needs a whoopin...

Because angryyoungman.blogspot.com was already taken...but at least that guy is really angry, I used to be that angry, but it isn't good for your health...that's like Henry Rollins or Lewis Black angry...I'm still pretty fuckin angry though...

Because it has been too hot to take my new toy out for a spin, especially since I just had to go with the Brando black leather jacket...

Because the PATRIOT Act got reauthorized by the House (of Evil), fascist bastards...oh, wait, they're probably watching me right now, I mean to say that I love President Bush, he is perfect, God Bless the USA...

Because they're after me...
