don't let the facts get in your way
Hmmm, look what I found: the constitutional definition of treason! From Article 3. Section 3: Treason against the United States, shall
consist only in levying war against them,
or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid
and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason
unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same
overt act, or on confession in open court.

Right-wing hacks love to accuse everyone who disagrees with them of being treasonous, but that clearly just doesn't add up when treason is so explicitly and clearly defined in the constitution. But right-wing hacks have never been ones to actually read what they champion or think about what they say. I believe in freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, freedom of speech, and I'm the one who hates America? Fuck you Coulter, O'Reilly, Hannity, etc.

i guess that's one nice perk that comes with merging religion and nationality--the definition of things like enemies become no longer constrained by the Constitution, i mean, the Substandard Laws of Man. it really frees you up to go Crazy With the Rhetoric.
we should do a rhetoric IQ test on the general public, to see if they can separate an argument from an ideological rant. ideas are just that, they don't exist in the world. they inspire people to act in the real world, and those actions are what are ultimately measured, or even measurable. they should be taken together and weighed against their consequences.
